Creating System Change
HEALTH EQUITY TOOLKIT
Your Guide to Making a Difference in Maternal & Infant Health
Together, we can change the story for mothers, babies, and families in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. This toolkit is packed with real-life examples of what’s already working in our region — strategies you can use, adapt, and make your own.
WHY THIS MATTERS
For too long, unacceptable disparities have existed between Black and White mothers and infants in our community. The Southeast Michigan Perinatal Quality Improvement Coalition (SEMPQIC) was founded in 2015 with one clear mission: make health equity the standard, not the exception.
